Just an update. Went down to my local ford dealer. Talked to a guy on Saturday at parts counter. Three or four mechanics were inside at the time. Told them about my codes, 33 & 44. All of them said try the EGR solenoid. One of the mechanics told me that I might receive a code for the egr position sensor and that might be bad also. $44.25 later NO CODES.
Drove it down the street after clearing the codes from continuous memory, sure enought code 31 upon my return. $60.44 later from ford for an egr position sensor, NOTHING AT ALL - ALL tests and NO CODES!!
She is running very good, better than ever with 130,927 miles!
