I have a 78f250 with a 351m and i was wondering if u could bolt it to the bell housing to a 72 with a straight six thebody is in way better shape would i have to swap trans and everything or not thank yall ...........cam😁
Don't think so, but for your comparison, the 351M and the 400 share the bell housing bolt pattern with the 460 rather than any of the smaller engines.
Which straight six does yours have? I'm only half-way sure that none of them shared the pattern with a 460, but that's only guessing on my part.

im not sure excatly what straight six is in it i havent even looked under the hood yet so if it wont bolt up can i use the trans and motor all the mounts to swap the 351 into the 72?cause the body is bad on the 78 but i like that motor in the 78
I always thought that the 240 was the OEM motor size, and the newer 300 was a common upgrade. I did that swap WAY back when, after I blew up the 6 that was in my 73, I got a JY 300 and with a 3 on the tree, it would scoot.
