Tailgate "click" when opening
My truck tailgate has developed a loud, metal click when I open it.. The "click" is at about the 2 o'clock position (looking sideways at the gate).
Anyone have this issue. I am guessing the load spring in the tailgate acting up.

Mine's always clicked. I assumed it was the sound of the latch releasing. Press button, hear click, tailgate lowers itself.

I’ve noticed a click when closing mine sometimes. Haven’t figured out what’s causing it.

Its not the latch. It’s coming from the lower section of the tailgate and clicking after the latch disengages at about 30% open.

Ahh, ok, in that case, maybe you have a stone in there?

Does it have the assisted closing? The bar sometimes come loose inside gate and pops while opening or closing.

Its probably the soft open assist. I pulled the taillight and lubed the pivots and all was good after.
