Tailgate SNAP/CLICK

Those with the "auto" tailgate.... When you close it, is there a loud snap!?

It's not slamming shut.

When closing at about 3/4 the way shut, it makes a loud snap. Almost like the lift assist spring is binding and snapping to release tension.

I'm not sure how to post a video. If someone does, shoot me an email and I'll send the video.

take it back to the dealer. It shouldn't be making that noise. I opened and closed one at my dealer, and it was smooth as silk. And wholly crap was it light compared to my 2010.

Anyone else?

In addition, this morning I opened the cover just to the top of the cup holders (the one that has the Sync badge). It now will not close, it is stuck!

Yes, it makes the "Klunk" noise about 3/4 way closed also. Will bring it to the attention of the Dealer this week as now that I'm home from my trip. I don't think it's a major issue other than something not secure inside the gate. Also, noise seems to be coming from the right side of the gate to narrow it down some.

Final Verdict?

I am having the same problem with the tailgate on my 2018 F250. I already brought the truck back to the dealer, where they replaced a torsion bar in the tailgate. 6 months later, it's doing it again! Anyone know what the final fix is?
Thanks
Tom

Just wondering if you have ever opened it or maybe once just to see what it was? I mean its a non-working truck model...I just ordered a F 450W (working), looking forward to it. Its a King Ranch so it does not have WHITE seats...LOL just pullin on you! I looked at the Limited and passed on it due to the light interior. I jump in with chain saw oil and dust on me or dirt and junk from working on the place and suddenly needing to go down to the Tractor Supply or John Deere house. Usually, at the end of the day, my wife makes me take off my clothes outside the laundry room door and leave them there.

Your limited does have ONE GFEAT LOOKING interior!!!
