I’m currently rebuilding my 8.8 to get ready for the track next weekend. My passenger side axle shaft is worn where the bearing rides so I figured it was time to upgrade axles. Turns out nobody offers off the shelf axles for our trucks that I know of. I did find axle shafts for the 87 up Bronco. My question is are these axles the same length? Would they interchange okay? I would call but it is Sunday and nobody is answering so I turned to you guys.
I just went to check Gary's site and he dose not have that information posted at this time to say for sure they swap.
As a guess I would say yes but it is ONLY a guess.
Can you look up the axle you need for both trucks on say Auto Zone or Summit Racing or Jeggs to see if they cross over?
What is the Junk Yard on line parts look up site? That may tell you also.
That is what I would try.

The parts stores sell repair bearings for that situation. Autozone part number RP-6408. Looks like it offsets the bearing to a different spot on the axle.

Please, when asking questions, list ALL the pertinent info, we are not mind readers.
What year is your truck? If it's the 1980 F100 in your "About Me" profile, it does nothave an 8.8, it has the Ford 9 inch.
8.8" integral rear axle introduced in 1983 F100/150, Bronco & E100/150, but the 9" was also available thru 1986 for F150/Bronco, thru 1987 for E150.
