Me and a few work colleagues often visit the local Pick N Pull. Saw this poor girl in the restricted area. Talked to the manager and it had come in on a vehicle abatement after being abandoned I ask him about purchasing it and he told me the paper work would be messy and wasn't sure if it could be sold as a complete vehicle. He told me to give him about a month to figure if it could be put back into DMV's system. After about 3 weeks he called me and told me to come and get it!
Has a 360 and after some elbow grease and a few weekends, I got her running! Still a long rode ahead to go through her, but I've been wanting a shortbed effie for a while so I'm pretty pumped.
Nice find! Straight and at least from the photos serious-rot free. If you have a line on a grill grab it, there pretty hard to get. Looking forward to seeing your progress.
Got a question: What about late fees on license? I've heard Cali is horrible about that stuff. Have you tried to get plates for it?
In this case, it had been removed from DMV's system. After a break and lamp inspection, I can register it without any back fees. Plates are like 20 bucks for standard ones, and I believe around 70 for the new black/yellow plates. Also, 1975 and older are smog exempt in Cali!

Welcome.
I'm in Chico, Ca. About an 1 1/2 hours north of Sacramento. I travel down to the SD area a lot for work though, so that would be cool!

Check to see if Mike at Big M Automotive in Williams has any parts for your truck.
I've been there! He's really particular about letting people explore his lot. Went there looking for parts for my 67 Cougar years ago. I drive past all the time. As I work on a list of stuff I need, I'll definitely get back over there.
I love those trucks. Esp the short bed and short wheel base. Great off road with it's impressively short turning radius. I did 3,000 miles off road down in Mexico and would find another truck like it if I was going down there again.
