So I've got most everything done to my restomod. Just a few things left to complete it. I have some nuisance leaks, exhaust, stereo, bed liner, Hookup AC, and I have to find a connector for the brake pressure switch on teh distriution block ( its not the ford one, its a single pin), Probably a few other piddly things, but it's driveable. I washed her up and took her down to the gas station and back, about a 5 mile run.Trying to get a few figure 8s in to loosen up the rear diff clutches too. There's something up with the transmission. Not sure what. It feels sluggish. I rebuilt it with the broader performance kit and throttle body. I got the TC locally from the supplier all the transmission shops get their parts from. Its supposed to be a "super street" It's not really expensive but I'm not racing the truck or towing heavy so stock or slightly better was recommended. I notice it's much better when it warms up, but still not great. I had an identical truck with same motor, although not built near as well as this one, and it was a beast that would rip the tires in all 3 gears. I feel this motors power but it's not getting to the rear wheels, I believe. If I power brake it it will burn out, but doesn't feel like it wants to otherwise, and it's not snapping my neck back either. I did regear, but it's a respectable 3:55 LS when it had a 4:10 peg leg before.I figured the drop in gear would be ok because I more than doubled the torque and HP. I know everything is pretty tight. Maybe things need to loosen up. Not really sure what needs to happen. I followed the bad shoe videos and Broader book. I wouldn't think it's the band adjustment, although I think that needs to be tightened a bit too.May just have to go get my eyes poked out by a transmission shop. I'd be inclined to just switch to the modern overdrive transmission if I'm going to have to dump more money into a tranny though. I'll try and add some pics from my phone....
