300 Upgrades

I have an 84 F150 4x4 with the 300, I have been thinking about doing some upgrades to the engine. About 4 years ago I ditched the EEC IV, and feeback carb and went with a Duraspark II. Right now I have an exhaust leak on the manifold, so I thouht I would change it out to either headers for an EFI manifold.

The thing this right now, I have a fairly good single exhaust system, and I don't want to throw it away, so with whatever option I used I would like to bring it down to a single pipe right now, with the option of going to duels later. I have heard that Walker makes a down pipe the will bolt to the EFI maniolds to acoomplish this. Is there any headers out there that will allow me to do this?

Also, I have been looking at an Offenhauser intake, and going with a Holley 390 (If I remember right). When doing to this, is there a kit that will allow me to hook up my kick down linkage for my automatic transmission? Do a I need a special bracket to hook up my throttle cable? and can I use my stock throttle cable?

Thanks for you help.

Or you could go with a single exit header available from dynomax. They run like 120-140, I believe. Lot of people have success with a 500 cfm carb and aftermarket intakes, you should be able to hook the kickdown up without any drama. You should be able to use your stock cable as well if not with a little massageing. If you go with the efi manifolds get the exhaust as it connected to the manifolds and cut a length of it off and install a small Y collector (2 into 1 pipe) a muffler shop should be able to make up something. Good luck
