Pinion Seal

I have a 2003 F150 Heritage 2 wheel drive with the 5.4 Triton and automatic transmission. I am trying to replace a leaking Pinion Seal. I went and purchased the set, seal, nut, and yoke, and when I started taking it apart it became obvious that they were not the same size. The original is quite a bit bigger but no one at the parts store can find a listing for it. Does anyone know where I can find the correct parts or at least listings to know what to order?

You have to determine which rear end you have. Sounds like they just arbitrarily gave you parts for an 8.8. Your truck can have an 8.8, a 9.75 or a 10.25. Look on this internet thingie for how to tell the difference by sight. And your cabs axle codes should also have this info of what it came with. It is no news to anyone that a parts guy doesn't know

Have you tried calling a commercial Ford Truck Dealership with your VIN? I find the parts guys in the commercial dealerships are more helpful
