Just bought my first F250 6.0, it is a 2006 with 290K miles on. I am unsure of exactly what maintenance has been done to it, but it does seem to be well maintained. I have been doing a ton of research on common issues and scouring over the truck this past week.
I removed the EGR valve and it was fairly clean (black soot covered, but not clogged), but the EGR valve port in the IM was slightly damp. I suspected a failed EGR cooler, but I am not loosing coolant nor do I have white smoke from the tail pipe. I ran the "bubble" test that Bullet Proof diesel has posted on YouTube, but zero bubbles coming from the the degas bottle.
Any thoughts on how to interpret this?
