Some of you guys DMV make the ones I have been to look like a party. If you pick the right time you can get through ok. The first and last of the month is always busier as is Monday and Friday. Afternoon seems busier than mid morning but not always. One thing I miss about Alaska's DMV is that they print the new titles right on the spot. No waiting for it to come in the mail.
Texas nips you $60 for an out of state transfer on top of all the other fees. Some states charge you sales tax on every transfer. It used to be a trick to give them a low value but not too low or they would drag out their own value guide and tax you accordingly.

I hate CA DMV. I bought my truck out here and it cost $147 to register it every year. So I said to heck with this. I drove all the way to Arkansas and registered there. $28.75 a year. And I only waited 10 minutes. I CA i usually waited 2 hours. And CA still bugs me to re-register. Even though I am AR liscenced they still send me crap about reregistering.

I know the CHP looks for out of state plates, be careful. It is interesting that NY can find someone in CA. Just what database do they use to find you? Are we being watched?

The CT DMV is horrible. Unfriendly staff, and LONG lines. I had to wait at least 1 hour to get my lisence. No one there smiles, (and most people both behind the counters and in front of the counters) can't speak ENGILISH !!!!!!

sorry but here in MN there are never more than two people in line ahead of you, everyone smiles and it's relatively inexpensive....must be 'cause we are so close to the canadian border...

Iowa Dmv is awesome, yesterday i stopped in after work ( 3 pm ) I took care of renewing my licence, getting a copy of my MVR and adding hazmat to my CDL. I was still home before 4pm. Didnt even have to wait when i walked in. As for Conn. , those *******s can kiss my truckdrivers butt, they got me for $676 bucks when they didnt even have a highway sign or a mark on the map that it wasnt for 53 footers, only 48 footers, they pulled me over 300 feet before i got to the state line. Guess because i had a good looking new semi and trailer, they thought i had money lol
