So got this truck a few years ago from my great uncle he bought it new in 48. I've been working on it a little bit here and there for a couple months finally. Little info it's going on a 2005 Lincoln aviator chassis with a DOHC 4.6. Engine has new coyote rods and terminator pistons running a 4r100 trans out of a 2004 navigator and keeping it awd. Will end up with a big turbo and hoping for roughly 750awhp. Hoping to get it done this year.
Worked on it a bit today was gonna start making some cab mounts, but decided floor and front a piller bottoms needed some work.Tacked doors closed with straight gaps and tipped it on the back to measure and get some steel. Also getting all new tires those are just the rollers off my mustang.
Interesting interpretation on Mercury concept fender turn signal/parking lamps.
I have had thoughts along this line, but could not stand the though of chopping up perfectly good fenders.
Anyone else have pics of fender turn/parking lamps modification on 1948-50??
Has F1exploder given any thought regarding this mod by previous owner?

I would like to see Foose or someone do photo shop on shrinking the monkey grill headlamp openings to fit driving lamps and have 49/ 50 Lincoln headlamps sunk into the front fenders. Tail lamps from same Lincoln. Make a box cover from a 49 Lincoln/ Mercury coupe rear roof matched to cab shape, along the lines of Ahttps://www.mivehiclesolutions.com/aero-x-capero max. Hey 48f1, looks like it's going to be a really fun build. I have a question or two for you, as I'm a few weeks away from doing a little metal work on my cab.
1. Where did you get the floor pan and fire wall sections? I have only been able to find full floor pans, which I really don't need
2. Your welds look amazing, I notice you're adding some angle iron for safety and strength (I presume). while I'm decent enough at welding similar thickness metals, how did you accomplish that without melting the thinner metal?
Thanks for posting the pics, that'll be a big help for me in my own build. Can't wait to see more!
