Really? I wouldn't have known as I used to have really bad issues with pinging before I fixed it, you think setting the timing back to stock would change anything if this is completely normal? Thanks for all of your help BTW.

You can try bumping the timing back to 10 BTDC to see what happens. No harm in trying, but as I previously stated the pinging may get worse. Running higher octane fuel may mask the issue. Slightly lower timing will most likely be cheaper in the long run if running 10 BTDC results in increased pinging.
