Check coolant
I have a 2012 250 and yesterday the check coolant additive light came on while driving. Now it comes on when I first turn the switch on and I press OK and it goes away and doesn't come on anymore until the truck is turned off and started again. I have checked both coolant tanks and they are right on the mark and the truck is not running any warmer than usual. I would like to know has anyone else had this issue and what the problem was. Thanks for your input.

The warning is a pre-programmed timed reminder, it's not telling you anything is specifically wrong. Read your owner's manual about checking the condition of the coolant. The coolant has specific properties and additives that degrade over time and the truck reminds you to test these properties. There are coolant test packages you can purchase. You can clear the message by going into the settings where you clear out your oil change messages.

The additives are pretty important in a diesel coolant. Some of them prevent cavitation. I thought the newer additives are so good it doesn't need to be changed or added in a long time.... not sure. But do check it !
