I used to use this stuff called Wipe New - Tires but it's since been discontinued. There was a process. First you soaped and scrub cleaned the tire, then let dry. Then you don a 3M chemical filter cartridge mask, because no joke this stuff was noxious, then you applied just a teeny bit to the provided sponge and applied to the tire. Go around doing all 4 then then come back and do it again.
The black lasted for a good long while...couple months before you had to do it again.
Is there anything like this still out there on the market?
Back when I was single and washed/cleaned my truck every day I'd use ArmorAll on them. They looked great, and it certainly didn't last a couple of months. But since I was washing the truck 3 or 4 times a week it wasn't a big deal to shine the tires. Spray on and wipe in.
That might "hold you over" until you find a longer lasting product.
Thanks Bass. I've used armor all stuff before and it seemed to work ok. I've since gotten advice not to use armor all anything as all their products tend to dry surfaces and make them crack over time. Have gotten good advice about something called 303. Not sure what this is but it seems to be well thought of.
303 aerospace protectant is the only one I am aware of that doesn't destroy or alter the rubber compound and is a highly regarded product. I buy it by the gallon on Ebay for way less than what they want local for it.

Good info on the 303. I might try it, too.
In fairness, when I'd apply ArmorAll to the tires, I was driving upwards of 35,000 miles/year so I was only keeping them on the truck for a couple of years anyway...
I buy my tire dressing online from Shine Supply. I found it when I had to order the special soap you have to use on a ceramic coated vehicle. They have some very good stuff there. The tire shine lasts and doesn’t sling all over your vehicle. We just had a dry spell where my truck stayed clean for two weeks before it rained, and the tire shine lasted the entire time. I usually wash my truck once a week, and I use it every single time. I bought a gallon of it, put some in a spray bottle, and I spray it on an applicator pad and wipe it in the tire.
