cps & tranny ?/?
Truck is a 1996 250 4x4 psd Auto (E4OD)
Here's the story in short, Just rebuilt the trans at 185,000 miles and the trans/rebuilder shop says the cps is throwing codes and this is possible why the tranny goes wacky from time to time.
Every 50 to 100 miles the OD light blinks and the RPM's go up 300 RPMS. Still pulling but reving high Just like it slipping. Once it have acted just like it was in neutral reving really high almost to red line.
Also 2-3 shift is like it is confused. Goes in and back out and back in again. all happens really quick. Could also be converter locking and unlocking at or during the shift point, really annoying
Shop said that the scanner was showing like it had no speed Odometer. two Speed sensors later . His sources say the "speed modulator" on the instrument cluster may be bad.
It also has a new and updated PCM.
