What are these?

I have a 2017 F350 SWB, 4x2 CC with a factory coated bed. On each side of bed wall I have two cleats in a box with a key. They don't seem to tighten up(at least with nothing in them) and I don't have a clue unless they are some kind of stake holder. I would like to use them for tiedowns, but they seem flimsy and loose. Any suggestions? Thanks!

With out a picture all I can think of it’s the boxlink items.

Do a web search on Ford Boxlink and take a look at one of the You Tube videos. That may be what you are referencing.

The cleats are an element of Ford’s Boxlink cargo management system. The cleats are removable and other accessories can be attached to the mounting plates.

Do a Google search on “Ford” and “Boxlink”.

Thanks! They are the box link system (I'll have to play with them to see why they are loose). Does anyone know where you can buy only the box link clamps for the ramps. I have aluminum ramps that I would like to mount on the side. Thanks!

I'm not sure about the ones for the ramps but the boxlink system is e-track compatible so you can use any e-track accessories in place of the cleats.

I use these a lot with mine:

Like others have said E track accessories will work with the boxlink plates. They are just a little loose side to side, but up and down are good and snug.
