"CLAC" when deceleration..

hi, i have a friend with fors f-150 5,4l 1997 4x4 who have a "CLAC" song when decelerate to low speed. when he put 4x4 mod before hear song, the song not happen. so i think problem is on transfert case but before open it have you an idea? thanks a lot

CLAC

hi! it's the song that made the car "CLAC or TONG" i don't know who we say, the noise that it make, a metal against metal noise. sorry for my poor explain...

We're trying to help but sometimes an actual recording of the noise or even better a video of it happening works so much better. We're here to help as best we can.

lool no followed quickly by "oh******WTFNOW??" at this time but it will happen...

Video don't give good result of the song, so if some people know if this transfert case have a weakness?...

he give me his f150 during two week, i think finaly open transfert case to be sur. ...

Have you checked the U joints in the rear driveshaft for play? Many transfer cases have a chain in them and it could be stretched, I am going to move this to the correct forum so hopefully, you will get the help that you need.
