1996 f150 help
I have replaced the fuel filter.
I have replaced the fuel pressure regulator.
I have replaced the fuel relay
But I am still having an issue with the truck.
This is what I am dealing with.
1. At random times the truck will not start unless I leave the key or ignition switch in the on position for about 1 or two minutes.
2. At random times and without notice it will shutter or stall when driving sometimes it will die and I will have to cost to the shoulder and start it back up.
Sometimes it just stalls but doesn't die.
I can't figure out what would cause this and sence it doesn't do this all the time it is hard for a shop to diagnose.
I would appreciate any help I can get.
I have duel tanks it does this on both tanks.
So I don't believe it could be the fuel pump unless both pumps are having the same problem.
Fuel pumps are expensive so I am exploring all the least expensive possibilities first.
HELP PLEASE......
Next, turn the key so the lights come on and jiggle the key around a little bit. See it the lights flicker or you have any issues. Could be a worn ignition cylinder.
Have you had the battery and alternator tested? Most auto stores do this for free.
There is also a fuel pump cut-off switch , that could be causing an issue.
