I have something similar so following this thread. I have the MBRP catback 4" that I installed a year or so ago with DPF in place. I purchased the same MBRP 4" race pipe but also bought their 18" resonator and 30" muffler. I plan to install both but have heard to install the resonator closest to the turbo to minimize any drone and place the muffler further back. Not sure if this is the correct order to place them. Sent emails to MBRP with that question and still no response from them.
The hissing sound will be greatly reduced with a quality muffler. Measure the length of your 4" pipe where you can fit a muffler unobstructed, allowing room for band clamps. Find a 4" inlet/outlet muffler that fits this overall length.

The muffler would you recommend? I know I do not Want one that is stuffed with fiberglass I have seen some that have bent metal rods inside but I'm unsure of it my concern with the fiber class is that it will clog up fast thank you
I have a Donaldson muffler. I don't know what's inside it. They have mufflers in all shapes and sizes to fit your exact dimensions.
Bohen, you should PM Caluja or is it Claluja... I believe he's running the stock tailpipe but with the DPF hollowed out. Is there any way you could run the stock tailpipe with resonator? Or probably easier for you to use aftermarket because no flange to bolt to?
I've personally seen and heard deleted 6.7s and they sound like a jet engine. Pretty bad@ss... But that also brings unwanted attention from the wrong public officials. Somebody should start a thread for videos of deleted 6.7s at the tailpipes.

Good luck. I hope you get it figured out. I've heard that whooshing sound on the deleted 6.7s I've heard. Like I said, they sound like freaking jet engines. But I'm sure it could get old if it's too loud. Plus imagine that sound behind the cab with stacks? Nuts I think... That guys would daily drive a truck with stacks but to each his own.
Sounds good at idle. But I'm guessing idle isn't the problem...
I think if I did it, I would do a muffler and use the factory tailpipe with resonator. Plus it also looks stock if anything. All the GMs and some of the Ford's around here with the big@ss tailpipes sticking out screams DELETE! But that's just me.
