2013-2016 Seat swap and general wiring harness question
In the market for a used F-250 2013-2016. Toying with the idea of getting a lower trim (XL or XLT) for much lower price and finding a donor vehicle for upgraded leather later on. 2 questions if anyone has ever done this:
1) Will I have to run all separate new wiring from the seat for features like power seat and heated, etc. or is the wiring harness the same on all of these and just parts unused for lower trims? I know I will have to figure the same out at the dash bezel for controls as well.
2) The Bay is way too expensive and LKQ isnt much better any other good reources out there for seat upgrades?
I have an XL and found a donor 6 way power base. My harness look the same but was not. The power pin was missing. I had to disassemble the factory connection and gut the spare connection and add the power pin then splice in 12v.
Base works great. I love my vinyl floors and when the time comes just get them katzskinned.
If you are looking at more it will require more work for heat/memory. It's a tall order. 6 way base was a huge upgrade for me.
Forscan software will allow you to customise. You can add auto lights and light sensor but you'll have e to turn that feature on.
It's worth it. I got a used 2013 4wd crew worth 32k miles for $23k. I am going to have to take off the black trim and spray it with SEM paint to get rid of the faded.
