can anyone tell me what color does what as far
as taillights? i have a new wire for brakes and my running lights also work but thats it. its a 69 f100 by the way.
not to go against rrawlins but i think that the white is the reverse lights and the yellow and green and brown are correct. kill me if im wrong.
also i had the same problem it was in my steering collom in the blinker switch assembly i cant explain how it works by writeing it but i bet if you take it apart and a little examination you can tell if it is messed up. the contacts inside mine totaly wore off from the 30 some odd years of use.
You could be right tjdude, I was just going by industry standards. My Haynes manual (for 75-76) does show the reverse lights as being black/red. And now that you mention it I think Ford did use black for the ground. Time to pull out the old multimeter 19felix69.
If your brake lights work then chances are the wiring is ok since this is also the turn signal circuit. I also reccomend checking the turn signal system. It may just be the flasher too and they can be hard to find if they aren't working. I think I found mine clipped to the metal bracing up above the steering column somewhere. I pulled the wiring around and left it hanging close to the fuse block so it would be easier to change in the future. The most likely culprit will be the turn signal switch itself though.
well, my first problem is hooking them up in the rear...my hazards also blink but are not hooked up. when i turn the blinkers on it might blink twice and then the fuse pops. i have replaced both flashers. i suppose i should have posted all this in the first place, so i thank you for putting up with me.
