I'm new and with problems already. I recently bought a 2001 Expedition Eddie B. and I haven't figured out how to program the keyless entry key pad. Any one that could help me I'd be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
I know that on the '99 Expy's you can find the 5-digit code printed on the control module which is located way the heck up under the dash. If you stick your head up there with a flashlight it's easy enough to locate. There should be more information in the Owners Manual regarding the keypad. For my '99 pushing the last two buttons, (7/8) and (9/10) locks all the doors. After I enter the code just the driver's door unlocks, and if I put the code in and then press the (3/4) button, all the doors unlock.
Okay, so if I put the factory code in, How would I program my own code in. And what exactly am I looking for on the control module, (i.e. a sticker or something?).
The box is located under the driver's side dash above the e-brake pedal, it is white with a bunch of wires coming out the bottom & is about 4"x3"x1" (LxWxH). On the box there should be a label which should say Ford Electronics on it. There should be on the right side in bold large font the 5-digit pin number. FYI, all this is based on my '99 Expy and I don't know if Ford has changed anything for the '01 model year although I'd guess not. As far as reprogramming the number, I don't have an answer. I'd refer to the manual or contact your dealership for more information. If you have any other questions I'll try my best to answer them.
Thanks alot for your help. I am greatly appreciated. One more question though, do you know anything about programming the home link system that is located on the driver side visor. It says to look under the visor section in the manual but I've read the whole manual and there is nothing abut that there.
You can never remove the original five digit code from the system, but you can add an additional five digit code. If I recall correctly, the method for adding an additional code is to key in the original code, quickly press the 1|2 button, then punch in the new code.
