Delayed lighting adjustment on backup camera

Noticed over the weekend that when backing into my garage, the backup camera seems to have a pretty significant delay in changing from a very dark view that I assume is the default brightness level on the camera for bright daylight. The view is so dark that the camera is pretty much useless. I can hit the camera button to go to full screen and it reverts back to a brighter view and I can see fine. Is there a setting somewhere to change the camera's light settings? Note this is not the brightness level of the display screen itself but the image as coming from the backup camera. On the same note is it possible to make the default camera view when putting the truck into reverse be the full screen backup camera as opposed to the 360 split screen?

Not sure, but I think that hump on top center of the dash is the light sensor for everything. If you’re backing in, the daylight would still be hitting it.

Throw a towel over it and see it that fools it into thinking it’s dark.

Pics to explain better, first pic when backing up just outside the garage looking in on 360 mode, second pic same spot just swapped to the full view.

That will be any camera ever. Takes a second for it to switch to low light. Same thing with our eyes walk from the bright sun into a dark garage and it takes a minute to process.

Never had the issue on my 15 250, I assume something is different in the camera on the 19?
