Battery change

I accidentally hooked my batteries up wrong and my alternator smoked. I picked up a new alt, will the batteries be ok?

You should be able to test them and see. I would be more worried about the rest of the electronics on the truck, fuses, pcm, etc.

Most likely batteries are ok. The fusible link should have protected them.

The rest of electrical could have been affected.

I did the same and toasted the alt, batteries are still going strong 4 years later.
