replacement wheels?
I need to get new tires pronto, but in 16" size. I was looking in the junkyards for stock wheels, but the 16" ones looked to be only 6" wide,.
This truck will have a 'lightish' camper while hauling a small horse trailer. It will be on dirt roads in the mountains. Are these 16x6 stock wheels up to
handling this weight with E-rated tires? It might be my imagination but the steel seemed a little wimpier than the 16.5s? Thanks for info!

8 lug wheels on a 6.50" bolt circle: 1948/52 F2/F3; 1953/96 F250; 1967/97 F350; 1969/74 E300; 1975/2014 E250/350; 1997 F250 Heavy Duty.
F250/350's went to metric wheels in 1999, but no Econoline of any year has metric wheels.
Most of these 1980 and later wheels are 16" x 6" but Ford also offered some 1985/86's with 16.5" x 6.75" wheels, which you obviously don't want.
I don't know how wide the 2002/2014 E250/350 wheels are, have no truck parts catalog after 2001.
Look at aftermarket aluminum wheels, I would assume they are available in 7, 8 and 10 inch widths.
Where in CA do you live?
The fact that Ford used the 16x6 steel wheels on the later F350 shows that they are more than stout enough for my use.
This is cool as I did want to retain the stock look (hubcaps). Too bad Ford didn't make a wider 16" to allow bigger tires!
Thanks again! J

However, if you need a hubcap or more, your truck has outie wheels, while some 1967/68's have innie wheels. Innie hubcaps will not fit outie wheels and vice versa.
Innie hubcaps are 10 5/16" diameter, while outie hubcaps are 11 3/4" diameter.
