My steering column is shot. I'm wanting to install one with tilt and maybe telescoping,. Has anyone done this? Or know what doner car would have one that would fit?

Depends on how handy you are with wiring, I used one out of a 88 Camaro, I have also used one from a 79' bronco. The ford to ford was easy to rewire, simply plug it in. However, the Ch*by allowed for the wipers and the lights to be on the column.

I looked all around a junk yard in San Antonio this week & could not find a good ford column to use. I used a 88 Caddy column in my 51 ford truck. It had tilt/tele, wipers, Ign, cruse & brites on it. When I get home I'm going to check it for compatibility. I thing it might work well in the Bronco.

where are you at in san antonio.. im rebuilding a 70' right now, and the steering column is gunna be replaced here within a few weeeks...(putting body back on next weekend). I think i decided to buy a new one.. or rebuilt tilt column from one of the bronco stores.. either wild horses or toms or soemeone. The reason i decided on this: the new ones are around 300 for a manual trans. To get it rebuil i would probably drop around 200 to get it back to new shape. Also want the tilt. just my .02$

I live in FL. I was in SA doing some training at Kelly AFB. I looked on a few web sites to see if there was anyone in SA with Broncos. I wish I could have hooked up with some of you guys to see what your riggs looked like & where some parts might be.

I live over off of thousand oaks and wetmore area. I usually wheel with the local TX4WD club here in SA.
They've got a decent message board over at:

That's about the only place that I know well enough to go. Some other guys in the group go out Cibolo, but I've never made it out there. Also there is a lady in the group that lives on about 100 acres by Medina Lake that let up go wheeling every so often. We are getting together this Sunday at the Whataburger at 410 and Ingram Rd if you're interested.
