Hackenbush,
can you get the panel to fold up against the bakrak? I quite often run my bakflip folded all the way up to get full use of the bed. That’s my main concern with a rack.
I originally built this one myself in ‘08 or ‘09 for my then F150. I had to revamp it to fit the Super Duty. It is cab height and solid as a rock. It is tied down at the stake pockets. I used steelbuilding Z pearlings to make the light bar and louvers, 2” box tubing for the verticals and side rails. The Magnum racks are nice if you are looking to purchase a factory built one.

I haven't tried the Back Flip MX4 but the Bak Flip Revolver has plenty of room, Should be the same as long as it's inside the bed rail. I'd call them just to be sure. There great to work with.
It's also easy on and off in 10 min. https://backrack.ca/tonneau-cover-adaptors.html
I have a "Backrack" with a Bak Flip MX4 on an 8' bed. You need to order the spacer kit so the Backrack sits about an inch off the bed rails. I am able to fold the Bak Flip all the way up against the Backrack (full open). The bak flip braces that hold it up against the window/Backrack are too long so you need to shorted them or use a bungee to strap the Bak Flip full open.
I discarded the 1" spacers and used the 1" shorter standard pocket bolts to keep it lower, does not affect the covert all. But you still need the side plates that come in the kit with the spacer as they don't wrap around the inside of the bed rail..
