Couldn’t find the original post so I’m posting this for all to see. I’m high and dry but plenty of folks are so lucky. Anything in Red is at or above flood stage.
Up here in the Ottawa Ontario area and farther north it is really bad. My son lives about 2 hours north in a town called Petawawa. The river was flowing so hard it has changed the banks of the river. They ended up doing an emergency tear down of an entire office building that was in danger of falling into the river there. People here are sandbagging steady. Tough go guys.
This year's flooding has been a continuing disaster for so many folks. Between the property damage, transportation disruption, business interruption, and upended crops this spring has been an unending nightmare of epic proportions with no relief in sight. It isn't through getting worse, unfortunately. I'm hoping that the human price isn't too high.
