On the truck I just bought, the intermediate steering shaft (the part between the steering column and gear box that has the 2 u-joints and takes up the movement from the suspension) is clapped out.
There's easily a quarter turn of play in between the two sections that are meant to take up the movement of the suspension.
Easy enough right? We yeah except I can't find the part! I haven't called the dealership yet but so far this is the only part I have found:
The 87 to 91 is a totally different style than the 92 to 96/7. I have the Borgeson shaft on one of my trucks. Had to cut a ton of length off to make it fit, but it works fine.
