Sorry, typo -15w40, not 5w20. Its late. My Ford Powerstroke Certified Master Mechanic assures me the engine is in top shape, he keeps it that way, amber oil and all. I think we're good.

Well as long as they are a Ford power stroke certified master mechanic, then certainly all is good. Diesels don't spit out used amber oil, but don't take my word for it. You should ask your Ford power stroke certified master mechanic about that to confirm.

yeah, I've seen that either. Diesels usually have their oil black in no time.
And judging how good the oil is by the look of it means absolutely nothing.

Nope. In the long run, it would be cheaper to buy another crate 5.4 to drop in your current ride than trying to handle the maintenance on a 6.4. Personally, I vote to shoot for 300k on the 5.4 and save up for a little bit more for a nicer diesel with fewer miles unless there's a legit issue with it - or go the 6.0 or even 7.3 route. Anything but a 6.4.

EGR deleted, EGR is what turns the oil black immediately.
