Another spring swap question thread??

I have a 2001 Ex V-10 4wd that we bought for people hauling. I have other trucks for towing. Right now the measurements are LF 22" LR24" RR24" RF22.5. hub to fender lip. We put a set of new 275-70-R18 load E 2019 Super Duty take offs.New shocks, KYB front bilstiens rears.I have a lift and find zero play in ball joints and steering linkages. It has a darting/wander condition. when driving and we are looking to get ride height back to stock or slightly over, not wanting much lift. Is V front / Mod B my best bet? I have read till I'm blue in the face and just want a couple opinions from actual experiance. I have read the caster, steering box, RAS, and memory steer threads and am flooded with info to the point of confusion. If you could just share what worked for you,Thanks

at 22” your front your springs sre shot, the lower ride heigh has changed your caster and that causes the vehicle to wander.

simple fix is to replace your front springs.

if you do not want a lift then buy a set of new Motorcraft stock springs. not v or b ir any other truck spring, stock excursion spring from Ford.

you probably need new bump stops as well.

have it aligned with the these specs.
minimum 4* caster
toe in +.03

skip the RAS, rear sway bar, landyots or any other bandaid, j

fyi..... V B/mod would be considered a “lift”. since it increases your ride height over stock.

if you want a lift then the Procomp 22210/22415 is a much better solution.

if they are worn out replace them.

without inspecting them it is unknow, 200k is the magic number though so it couldn’t hurt to fo some preventative maintenance.

Give me a call and I can help you out. There’s a lot of spring swap info out there and it can definitely get overwhelming quickly. May be easier to discuss your options.

Longer front shackles

Longer front shackles will also help the caster as well. If money for front springs is not there. front lift shackles are pretty inexpensive and will get you some of the lift you are looking for

they lift half the total extra length they are. 2” longer than stock gets 1” height increase.

Just to add. Toe out causes horrible wander as well.

Easy to confirm/measure with attention to detail and a tape measure
