86 ford f150
When I have the breather box and air filter on the truck it won't start
But when I take it off it cranks right up. Any suggestions to why this is happening.?

Welcome to the forum!

By removing the air filter, more air can enter, so maybe the mixture is too rich?

Or, perhaps the air cleaner housing is touching a worn / frayed wire, thereby grounding the ignition?

What engine? I am going to guess it's a 302 fuel injected?
