So I'm working on a new roof leak on my 2011 Scab. I am highly suspicious of the driver side plastic rivet and rubber molding on the roof but since the CHMSL is such a common leak on these trucks I want to address this as well. I know some people just replace with a new unit, but this doesn't seem like a good solution as the inherent weaknesses will still be there. I figure I have two options
1. Make a gasket out of proper rubber material
2. And/or use RTV to seal it.
I like the RTV option but worry about future bulb replacement. Is there anybody that makes a high quality LED CHMSL assembly aftermarket? Or am I stuck using LED drop in bulbs? If so, I would assume either Philips or Sylvania LEDs would be the most reliable?
