PO of my 2k X claimed that he had upgraded the rear springs to “super duty” springs. Is there a way for me to visually identify what springs are on the rear, or a way to confirm?

Post a picture of them to get us something to work with, the pickup spring packs have a different number of leaves and configuration and lack the EXs traction bar. And we just love pictures of EXs and even parts of them here!
i have previously gone into great detail what the issues are but suffice it to say it defies common suspension design.... its dumb. I wouldnt go as far to say unsafe but you can do better, the stock spring is better
well those aren't Excursion leafs. they do look like Superduty leafs.
what's your measurement from center of wheel arch to the center of the hub?
here is what the OEM excursion leaf looks like
Apologies, I don't mean to derail; is that separated lower leaf/traction bar a 4x4 only thing? My 2wd springs look just like that pack, but without the spacer or extra leaf.
Looking at the superduty spring the OP has it seems like it would ride worse than a stock Ex spring.
I don’t know how it rides, so I’m of no help. Bought it with a dying engine and trailered her home. This is how it came to me. PO said he was at almost 4K tongue weight, and put Super Duty springs on rear to fix sag issues. With all the talk of F code this, and B code that, I was under the impression I may have had SOMETHING done right for a change. Alas, it appears my luck has remained constant, and after she’s running, I’ll have to figure out how to fix this as well.
its tough trying to learn....even more so when you seem to always learn the hard way.

.
it is an anti-wrap leaf aka traction bat. the one pictured is missing the rubber snubber on the end. Ford installed them to help axle wrap in 4 low,

from my experience learning the hard way is really the only way we truly learn.
those rears are likely B codes and depening on what you want to do with your ex or if you want to change the ride height it is an easy fix. drive it first but it should be ok-ish., nothing to psnic over.
4k tounge weight would sag those springs 2” because they have a crazy high spring rate of 1000 pounds per inch. sounds great untill you realize at 2” sag you have less then 1/2 of travel left.... that is why the are dumb, at curb weight ride height you are already on the overload spring. that is the thick bottom leaf. when used correctly on a pick up truck there is a gap between the overload and the main pack so you get several inches of travel before hitting the overload.

My plans are simple. Towing the camper on family vacations, and to dog shows. I would like to build her to handle whatever towing job is thrown her way. Wife is looking to upgrade the camper, but no concrete decision has been made. I’m of the mentality that it’s better to have it and not need it..than to need it and not have it. So my thoughts were to build it to handle 15k or more, and that should cover anything “tag along” or non 5th wheel.
im not concerned with lifting. We have a Jeep for throwing money away in that department. 😂
Our EX with my Bride, me and two dogs scaled at 8040lbs, with 4K tongue weight I think it might be doing a wheelie! What on earth was the PO towing that had a tongue that heavy? Even the big fifth wheels typically have lighter pin weights than that.
15k towing is a big ask and more then i can detail posting ffom my phone but in general i would incresse the suspension travel by switching front and rear springs to the procomp 22210/22415 with air bags, bilstein 5100 shocks, lower gear rstio, billet torque converter, 6.0 trans cooler and new brakes, probably new steering gear, Load index of 125 or higher tires and a AAA RV nembership

Food truck. Well, food trailer. All sinks and water tanks up front.
