Body swap

Hi there guys, I know this topic has been gone over and over and over and I’m sorry to add to it!
ive seen and read the articles about swapping a bumpside body onto a dentside frame and that’s great the body and bed all line up real easy... my questions are, what about after you have the body and bed on? Are there complication on the radiator? Hoses? Steering? Wiring? Steering column? Anything like that?

i have a running/driving 1979 F250 4x4 and the body is full of rust but ALL the running gear is great. I have a buddy with a full complete 1968 F100 that I can get cheap and the body is in great shape just all the running gear is shot. If I was to slap the 68’ body on the 79’ chassis. Will I run into any issues you guys know of after the body and bed are mounted? Do I just use the 79’ steering box? And column? What about fuel tanks? I have the front and rear tank on the 79’. I’ll have to put a rear gas tank door on the bed? What hoses would you run for the side tank? Etc.

Dang..... a '68 body onto a '79 chassis?

Sounds like you are asking for a lot of trouble.
I'm sure it CAN be done but...... well...... I'll let the ones that really know chime in.

This is a common upgrade to a bump side truck. Chect out the Fordification site for details.

Here's the relevant web page: https://www.fordification.com/tech/c...comparison.htm

The swap is easy. Everything bolts up , the exception is the bed if you are using it on a narrow rear frame 4x4 I just drilled new holes.

thanks is Ford390gashog, did you have to change anything mechanic/electrical wise? Custom mount bumpers? Conversion radiator? Did the side mount gas tank inlet line up? What did you do for a rear mount fuel door?

Read the article I posted above. It answers your question in detail. In fact, there is an important difference in cab mounts between F-250 and F-100/150. Here is the link again:
