I have a 2019 with 2800 miles on it. I know it has regened, I have seen the fuel economy going down. My 2011 always told me when regen was occurring. Does it not on a 19? If not, is there a programing change I can make so it will notify me? Thanks guys, the info on this site is invaluable.
Have the dealer enable the DPF screen in the dash for you. They unlocked mine for free. You can watch the DPF status and when it hits 99% it will start to go down to 0% eventually. I have never seen the "Drive to clean" status or a notification that I was in regen.
Or get a digital monitor like an Edge CTS2 Insight or Banks iDash 1.8, etc. Or get a phone app like Torque Pro or FORScan, a OBD2 Bluetooth adapter and use your phone, an old phone or a tablet. Then you can monitor more PIDS if you'd like.
Gee, I wish mine didn't display the regen message. It's not something I need to know or can do anything about, so why display the message.

IMHO, that's where Ford dropped the ball. The problem with not knowing your truck is in regen is if you arrive at your destination and just shut off the engine like we all do, the injectors will continue to be under pressure and drop the extra fuel into the cylinders. Then that extra fuel will make it's way into the oil past the rings and further dilute the oil. If you know you are in regen, then you let the truck idle for 30 seconds or so which will turn off the regen so that doesn't happen. Plus if you know you are in regen and you are doing stop and go driving, you can find your local highway or expressway so the DPF gets hot and does its job. Just saying...
That's nice but we also have a DPF % that can be added to the third ghost screen. What I meant was there needs to be a REGEN icon displayed on the dash when the truck is in regen in case you miss the "CLEANING EXHAUST FILTER" message that's briefly displayed.
Another point, at least the new Rams look good. Not like those new Chevy half tons.

Bluetooth OBDII scanner works with FORScan and Torque Pro via bluetooth on the PC and Phone. FORScan can write to the various modules in the truck but you need to use a Windows PC or Tablet with an extended license to do so. Both are free, just need to register at Forscan.org. We have a FORScan thread around here somewhere that will answer most of your questions.
I have the Red / Maroon WiFi MX connector and use an iPhone. This problem may be unique to me or there may be an iPhone setting that I’m not aware of.
My iPhone connects WiFi to the MX Maroon connector and I get a message in WiFi settings when it connects to the MX maroon connector ‘no internet connectivity’. The phone will stay connected to the OBD connector for a little while, then disconnect and try to find a WiFi network with internet connectivity. Very frustrating when driving trying to keep my eye on a regen.
My Windows 10 laptop does not have this problem with the MX maroon WFi connector, it connects to the thing and stays that way.
I wanted WiFi so I could have my phone connected to SYNC via Bluetooth and watch Forscan. The ‘disconnects’ occur if I’m Bluetooth connected to SYNC listening to music or not.
Just to be clear, I’m not talking about the Bluetooth / Black MX connector shown above. I’m talking the Maroon WiFi MX connector
