I am ordering all the new parts listed in your other thread. Pro comp springs (22210 and 22415) and just going to order new shocks too. It will pain me but I’m going to put dual 5100’s up front and I guess drill a hole in one on each side.
Please explain why would you drill a hole in the shocks?

the PO installed a double shock mount and he is reworking his suspension and needs new shocks so the choice is a single shock, a double shock or a single with a dummy shock do it looks like doubles.
using a double shock requires custom valving so that each shock is 1/2 of a whole. but since he doesnt need doubles nor want to hassle with custom he will drill a hole in one and make it a dummy.
about what i figured, i will need to lnow how long those tabs are to make sure the shocks I suggested are going to work. might need to either go back to the stock T bar or get a new shorter mount. not a big deal
when you get them off snd measure them we can know for sure
My rear U bolts measure at 10 1/2” . That’s from the bottom of the U to the top on one side. The plate for the airbags/spring pack is thick and didn’t know if I should order the 12” U bolts instead of the 8”.
Also, the front U bolts need to be elected for the D60 correct?
I thought from the past I needed a front shim around 5 degrees but the previous post said 2 degrees for front and rear. Just wanted to make sure.
So what does this Excursion do that you want to change all the suspension? It looks like lots of things were bolted on. It's not possible to address the handling issues without replacing everything? Maybe you just don't want it so tall anymore. I'm just curious where you started and how/ why you got to this solution.

you can alwsys trim them do order the 12” if those are what you will need with your plare.
yes D60
a 2* shim, the axle has 3* of caster built into it.
I went ahead and ordered the pro comp 4” pitman arm and track bar drop bracket.
Pirate or anyone else, can you post some good pictures of 37’s with 4” lift. I always have fear of better options and wondering if 5” would be better. Just making sure before I have the parts installed. I should have all of them by end of next week. Any suggestions on front sway bar end links? I have adjustable rear links.
fwiw, Carli is one of the very best streetable truck suspension designer/tuners in the world.
his setup is badass for sure but most folks would never use their Ex in a manner that those shocks are capable of. the Procomp recipe I detail for $1100 will deliver 80% of Carlis setup.
for some reason I’ve brainwashed myself into think I need/want more like 5” lift. I like the idea of the 4” Procomps as they have a proven track record. I’m running the RAS in the rear which I know can give me an extra inch to hit 5. What about the front? Can I run a 1” block? Any other ideas.
i measured from bottom of fender to center of gun again. Front 30” and rear was 31”. What was the average stock height that measures on the Excursion? The old owners couldn’t remember what lift kit he put on but I think it’s more than 6 and less than an 8.
RAS and Sway Bar ? SMH.... you are not fixing anything just making a shorter POS. expect your ex to handle just as it does now. hardly seems worth the hassle
