2012 f250 a/c issue. It's not blowing cold. Pressure was spiking so I replaced the expansion valve and high side pressure switch. It no longer spikes the pressure but it doesn't get cold the compressor short cycles and sometimes it works fine and other times it doesn't want to work very much at all. Any ideas.
You have to take it to a shop. You cant just brake open the system without pulling a vacuum on the system. Even a little air has moisture and ice will form on the expansion valve. These systems run a very high pressure not like the old days. The constant cycling of the compressor tells me that the pressure is not right. Again I would take it to the shop.
Why did you open the system in the first place?
I am a technician. And I did pull the system down. I'm a heavy equipment tech not a truck tech so I'm not sure which sensors this ac looks at to shut off the compressor
So far I have replaced the expansion valve and high pressure switch. I've swapped all fuses and relays related to the AC. I have pulled down and recharged the system twice. I have unplugged the evap sensor and tried jumping it but I'm not sure what the resistance is supposed to be so I can't check it and no one around me stocks one.
There is a pressure switch. it is some ware around the compressor. It's on high side of the refrigerant lines. I couldn't find mine as the compressor is under a bunch of hoses.
