Oh, I call them Dodge on purpose because that's what it is. They ran away from the Dodge name because of the negative quality connotations. It's still a Dodge . . .

I was kidding because most of us do just that. It's been either dodge or ram with the same vehicle over the past 40 years but now it's supposed to be just a Ram. I don't know but running away from the dodge brand for any reason while still making and marketing a dodge brand makes no sense at all. I also seem to remember that Dodge has been associated with the rams head for decades, probably since the 40's and their truck line has been called Dodge Ram pickups since the eighties. Then there's the Dodge Ramcharger and those small 80's crap box Ram 50 and Rampage models . Ram hood ornaments and Ram branding right along on all Dodge models until recently so how can anyone claim they only changed the name to escape a poor quality reputation of Dodge by calling it a Ram??? . It was all marketing and simply shortening it to a Ram brand to seperate it from the automobile side. . I believe using the Ram name is an intentional continuation of its Dodge heritage. You don't like dodge and you have every right to your opinion and that's fine. I just don't see where you're reasoning for why things were done has any accuracy.

Its a nice looking rig. I'm disappointed they discontinued the G56 option though for 2019. Nobody wants to row their own gears anymore apparently. That motor is still the best choice for serious work.

That's something we've never seen before...LOL...Oddly enough that's one of the things I like about the Ford. Took a very long time before you're out of 'style'

Doesn’t matter how much you polish it, it’s still a t**** . Waste of a good motor.

I personally think FoMoCo has been “with it” for some time! In all honesty, they are still the best tow vehicle out there. I traded my ‘16 F350 dually w/ 3.73 gears for an ‘18 3500 Ram/Cummins, HO Aisin transmission w/4.10 gears. There are a few things about the Ram that I like better, but overall I still think Ford has the Ram beat. Except for the auto leveling air suspension. And I do like the interior of my Laramie Longhorn.
And by the way..........TFLTrucks are just full of chit.........way too much bias in their BS. They are merely entertainment......nothing more!

You get better low end torque with the inline 6 and 4.10's.

I have always heard the Ford and GM truck is more comfortable to drive around in empty while the RAM behaves and drives more like an old school rig. A little less refined but there is a reason you almost never see any serious hot shot or car haul outfits using anything but RAM 4500/5500's. Maybe that will change with GM's new medium duty Silverado.

You get better low end torque with an engine built for low end torque, regardless of the configuration.I have run about every type diesel engine built, from 2 cyl air cooled to V-16 Stationary engines @ 1500 HP turning generators.
With that being said, just to compare apples to apples, let’s take a Cat 3412 for example. They are all V-12; but one set up for turning a generator at a constant 1800 RPM is not set up the same as one set up for direct drive that needs to start a load at low RPM, then accelerate to 1800 RPM.
So, the I-6 having more low end TQ than other configurations is just an old wives tale.
There is one on ramp that I use when towing my Raptor (loaded) going north on I-15. My ‘16 Ford would get on the ramp, and continue to accelerate to the top of the hill. That truck was 860 TQ at I think 1600 RPM with 3.73 gears. My new ‘18 Ram gets the rig up to right about 60 and that is it. That is with 930 TQ @ 1600 RPM with 4.10 gears. Something does not add up. Maybe somebody is full of themselves. The air assist rear suspension in the Ram is damn nice tho. They both have their good points and their not so great points.

That's a joint venture. It'll be rebadged, mfg, and sold through International as one of there's as well . It may give them an advantage having a presence in the lighter side of heavy hauling with International as well as the heavy side of light hauling/GM pickups etc. So ya, we'll see with that one.
