Solid ABS light, no codes

Howdy. Hope all is well. My X decided to turn on her ABS light. Solid, no flashes, no performance issues noticed. Hooked up the code reader and nothing. Any ideas???

Check to see if your e-brake pedal is pressed some.

Checked it and even cycled it a few times to no avail. Light is still on.

Do you know that your code reader definitely reads abs codes? I ask because not all do. My code reader has a separate button for abs codes.

You definitely need a code reader that can access ABS module. Average reader won't do.

The extended license version of Forscan will read your ABS codes.

Correct me if I am wrong but Forscan is an app that connects via bluetooth to a phone to read right?
Which adapter should I purchase to be able to run Forscan?
I dont think my scanner pulls ABS, so I figured a better scanner doesnt hurt

Forscan has an App but it is the lite version and doesn’t do ABS as far as I know.

to run the full featured version you need a Windows 7 computer and the extended license ....both free but you can buy them for cheap as well

the full version does 2 way communication and programming so you do not want to use Bluetooth as it is not reliable.

you must use an adapter with a chip that is proven to work with Forscan and they only recommend a couple of specifics ones.

here are great diagnostic computers with win7 pro for $70
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Dell-Latitu...ty!95648!US!-1

and the recommended USB OBD adapter
Amazon Amazon

Forscan here....read the forum and download section.

Thinking about it......the lite version might read ABS codes....I was thinking ABS bleed procedure and speedo calibration in ABS module.

oh well....read up and verify if the lite works

Mine has had ABS light come on twice since I got it in 2014, both times it came from the speed sensor on the rear differential. First time I believe it was damaged when my pinion bearing went out, had a light after I rebuilt until I finally remembered to order a new sensor. Second time was recently, drove it that way a few months, happened to notice the sensor and surrounding area was oily while I was checking oil in the diff before a trip. Tried to clean the sensor and plug, worked for a while, but the o ring was damaged, so it got oily again. Replaced sensor again because I couldn't find an o ring that fit right, and sensor was only 14 bucks. No more ABS light for at least 3 months now. Might be worth a shot to at least check your sensor, clean it up a little.

Thank you for the tip. I will take a look at that today. I am still going to get a ForScan setup but need to get my ducks in a row first.
