EFi conversion kits, electric fan required?

EFi conversion kits, electric fan required?
I saw on the documents and instructions for the FiTechs they want to also connect to an electric fan. Is this 100% necessary? I dont want an electric fan

Just like the AC signal it is just a added PID and can be used or disabled. If you haven't bought it I do suggest looking at the Holley fuel injection kit as the customer service and the ability to tune is better I have found.

Nonetheless, an electric fan is a good mod, especially on a truck like mine with a power-robbing directly coupled (clutchless) fan with large blades. I plan on putting an electric fan on it.
A clutch fan might be better than a direct one, but an electric beats them both hands-down, when it comes to parasitic power losses.

Electric fans are certainly an acceptable alternative. My FiTech runs fine with the fan clutch and no overheating problems....its just that the option to control an electric fan is there should you decide you want that.
