Hello from Carlsbad, Ca.
I have a 2000 4x4 Excursion LTD. purchased new 4 years ago and mostly used as a people hauler and to tow a 8900lb. 35 Ft. Mountaneer TT. I've put 45,000 mi. on it and think it's one of the best trucks Fords ever built. The only problem is the brakes and I found the solution here.
I also have a 2002 T-Bird and all I can say is "WoW'
It's a convertable, rag top, and hardtop with portholes. It's the perfect cruise machine for Carlsbad, Ca. My hobby rig is a 1992 Mazda navajo. I've done a ton of customizing and swapping to make it a roccrawler. It has a Currie 9in. in the rear with custom springs and 4 Rancho 9000x shocks.
Up front I have a Dynatrac 44 with a 4 link, King coilover shocks and RAM assist steering. Gearing is 5:13's with a Detroit in the rear and ARB in front. Power is divided thru an Atlas II 4:3:1.
Tires are 37X12.50X17 BFG MT KM"s. and to be on the safe side I have a full rollcage. The list goes on. It's been a 10 year project.
Hope to see some of you So. Ca. boys around
