Arcadia, Maine in September

Did you mean Acadia National Park?
One of my brothers lives near ANP, and we’ve visited several times. It’s a jewel of a park, but it’s very popular and, fo me, uncomfortably congested in the summer. The park shares Mt. Desert Island with several small towns, including Bar Harbor. There’s one road and bridge connecting the island to the mainland. Some of the island roads are narrow and twisty, and a few are are one-way.
We camped with our CCSB pickup and pop-up camper at Blackwoods campground many years ago. My recollection is that we had a very pleasant visit.
I recommend a thorough read of the park’s website: https://www.nps.gov/acad/index.htm
HTH, and safe travels!

As a child, which is an eternity ago, I remember visiting the area around the White Mountains where we camped. If recall serves me correctly, it was a beautiful area and I would like to see it again. However, some of our time will be spent just wandering and we are never sure exactly where we will end up.

Many years ago - like the late 70s or early 80s - I did a motorcycle camping trip of that area including Bar Harbor and Acadia NP in late September. Not only were there no crowds, but a I found a lot of campgrounds were in the process of shutting down for a lack of business. I was told that pretty much everyone shut down around October. Course, that might have changed since those days . . .

We are about 45 minutes south of the White Mountains and camp there as often as possible. When I have some free time, I will PM you some suggestions on things to see / do while in NH. I would also love to try and meet up if you had any interest.
