05 f250 code p0022
Just purchased a 05 f250 with the 5.4. when I got it home, the check engine light came on and it started running rough and sounded like it was knocking. After reading the code (p0022 bank 2 retard), and doing a lot of research on the cam phasers, I replaced the cam sensor, driver's side cam phasers, and cam actuator. Cleared the code, took it for a test drive and code came back. Engine sounds great after I clear the code. Also, after it runs rough, codes p0300, p0305, and p0307 come up. The coils all check out ok. Any ideas?

You probably need to provide some more information to get some informative responses. Miles? Maintenance history (Plugs / boots etc)? Oil change & weight & filter type? Did you replace timing chains and guides? Did you check oil pan for broken chain guide debris that might be clogging up the oil pump pickup screen?
Your P0022 are indicative of broken guides and worn chain. Your P0300 - 0305 and 0307 are common with the over retard issue and not necessarily ignition electrical issues.

Need to know if OEM phasers used
All others are junk . Did you drop pan , clean out oil pu . Guides and tensioners very important . New VCTS are one of the first things to do . Then do a good plug /boot replacement . Miles and mods info as well as your location . Oklay the cam actuator is VCT --check . You did this with the wedge on the chain I bet , so you don't know if the guides are shattered . Dropping oil pan will tell you a lot . Condition of sludge in valve train will also tell a lot . Driovers side is not to bad to pull .
