2017 CC F250, 6.7 with 39,000 miles. In the last 3000 miles, the front camera went out, the tailgate started opening by itself, the zipper on the passenger front leather came apart, and now the moon roof is stuck!!! Thinking about trading on my first Chevy, what ya think?

I would go with a Ram 2500 with Aisn trans. big Horn or Limited.

yes, GM will be building an improved truck offering greater GVWR. It will be taller, bed will be lower for 5th wheel towing, cool down timer, roomier crew cab, stupid waxed frame.
Those malfunctions are really frustrating (and I’d be upset as well on such an expensive vehicle) but they can happen at any time on any vehicle. Electronics do not have preventative maintenance and they can fail early on or down the road. Obviously less likely early on as compared to after 75,000 miles of vibrations and element exposure. I don’t think the trucks primary design purpose has been compromised (perhaps the tailgate opening).

No vehicle ever made is without failure of some kind or the other. Some more than others. I don't think one can go wrong with any of the Big 3 offerings. With that said, just jumping ship to the other brand does not guarantee a perfect vehicle.
Well I thought everybody knew that the moonroof is just to look through not to open. Sorry you are just learning this--I learned on my last Ford Truck. Mine now was only opened during the obligatory demo and setting up the Sync. Otherwise never on mine.

I suggest steering FAR clear of that POS Aisin transmission. There is a known issue in the Rams where it creates a "drone noise" at 2k RPM. There's a TSB for it and everything. Even with the TSB, Chrysler denies it's a defect but for how loud the noise is when towing, it's a defect. It's specific to the Aisin transmission. Additionally, when I look at the 68RFE compared to the Aisin, and now the Torqshift, both transmissions on the Ram are programmed by the same people, so they have many of the same issues. I traded in my '16 Ram because of the Aisin. That was after having a '13 for 3 years with the 68RFE. Chrysler's refusal to address the problem led me to Ford. If you're going to go to a Ram, the Aisin isn't all that awesome, the the 68RFE is so weak that it can't handle above 800 lb ft torque. $2700 upgrade... not worth it.
I have a 2019 f-350 KR - came from a Chevy 3500 ltz. We have ram work trucks with the Asian - f-250’s. Ect. I have every heavy duty brand in our conpany. Haven’t had much trouble with any except for a few things and every dealer has handled it to satisfaction.
Trucks sometimes are like getting divoirced I would think. If one or two things go sour we can’t look at the positives. Trucks now of days are so complex and we have no one to thank but ourselves.
We have a tradesman work truck ram and it has more features then a loaded lariat did 10 years ago. We have kept whining and complaining to the point we now have moonroofs and suede roofliners because if they don’t make it we will go to a brand that does. We don’t even need 900 lbs of torque. If the truck is a 4500 or 5500- it will pull 15000 lbs perfectly fine with 600 lbs of torque.
I keep my personal Truck for only two years so I never get into the longevity of the truck. But I will say with everything these trucks come with if your going to keep it 5 or 6 years- then an extended warranty is a must. If you have a top of the line anything- any kind of car - you will have stuff go wrong in today’s day and age.

A good STX package will fix each one of those problems...diesel, a/c, and 4 doors - check.
...so you came on here to have fellow members convince you to stay with ford or help you move to another brand? i can't see the logic behind asking nameless/faceless people online to convince you on something this important. Or you came on here to vent and are expecting a hug or something?
OP, speaking strictly to your camera/tailgate/electrical issues, it sounds like a lot of that is the well known electrical connector by the spare tire (mounted in the inside of the frame, literally to the left of the spare if you are laying under the truck with your feet out under the tailgate). I read a lot about it and when I bought my new 250, I crawled under there and injected the dielectric grease into that huge connector (and the other three under there). Have had zero issues. Others have posted about it and I believe there is a TSB out on it, but I don’t have the number.
i also read others having the roof problem where plastic guides are broken (replaced by dealer service). The leather coming apart on the seat, I’ve got nothing for you there.
I hope you give a dealer/Ford the opportunity to fix yours (likely will replace your harness given it sounds like water got in and corrosion likely exists). Admittedly stinks given the cost of the trucks that something like that could hose up so much, but at least it’s a (relatively) easy fix.
It doesn’t help you now, but for others reading this, for a guy that DOESN’T do ALL of my own maintenance myself, that little task literally was a $8 tube of grease and a small flathead to release the clips from the frame mount. Took me maybe 10-min in total under the truck. Highly suggest doing it if you haven’t yet.
