I have a 2001 ford F-250 it came with sealed halogen headlights and I converted them to sealed beam LED lights now I'm dealing with a lot of radio interference when I turn on the headlights does anyone know what I can do to correct the issue
As others have said there are varying types/prices/quality of LED lighting products.
These trucks were engineered, designed, and built before the HID/LED boom so are not equipped for that type of EMF discharge.
As you add new technology to an old machine you will have to make sure that the item itself is shielded properly or you will have to shield the appropriate portions of the truck for all the systems to work in harmony.
I personally stayed away from non-halogen light applications for this very reason. There are more disappointment/failure stories than success ones and, just like you, I don't have money to throw around until something works. At the very least I was going to have to put magnets (RF chokes) on my chip cable and I had no interest in cascading modifications to make one product work. Not to mention that CA has a law (obscure and un-enforced as it may be) that you cannot modify your headlights outside of the type that came with the vehicle (e.g. you are not allowed to install HID/LED headlights on a vehicle that came with halogen lights from the factory).
Not to be a jerk but sometimes you roll the dice and come up snake eyes. I've done that a few times over the years.
You might be able to add some kind of shielding/magnets to your antenna/radio to make things work or you will have to make the choice to live with it, get a different set of headlights, or go back to the original halogens.
