Got to drive my 71 for the first time today! Saved it from rotting in away in a barn a few months ago and just rebuilt the entire brake system and new tires! Still a lot to be done but it felt good to drive “ole red”!
Good looking truck and really nice looking shop. My roommate's '74 F-100 has nearly the EXACT same dent on the bed as in your picture.
Enjoy the project & be safe!
Mike
Thanks and yes I love the shop! 1800 square feet and high ceilings for the lift. I wish it didn't have the dents because it has a really cool patina look that would go great for the look of a shop/parts truck.
I know that had to feel good.
What does it have for power & drive train?
So far I have only been able to move mine in & out of the garage under it's own power and that felt good.
Then again mine was a cab off frame rebuild just need to get paint on it.

It has a 302 with a C4. I am taking the 2 barrel off and putting an intake and 4 barrel on it. The gas tank is in great shape but the varnish of old gas was a nightmare to get out. The engine has a little blow by but I am hoping to run it for a while and see if the rings re-seat and if not, it will get a shade tree rebuild, (bearings, honed, rings, new lifters and cam and I have a Sioux machine to do a valve job).
