I can't seem to get a straight answer on this one.
My 2006 Ford E350 5.4L is throwing P0113 - Intake Air Temperature Sensor 1 Circuit High Bank 1
Now I can't seem to get a picture or location exactly where this sensor is located. Alldata says that it can be integrated within the MAF sensor, then other manuals say there is a seperate sensor. You call the dealer and they don't list that part separately. To make matters worse some places I read said that its only if you have digital temp controls. I don't have that. Someone guide me here in the right direction as to where this is?
It's integrated into the MAF sensor. Try cleaning it first with Mass Air Flow cleaner ONLY. Then disconnect your negative battery cable for a minute or use the code reader to reset the code. If that doesn't work and you opt to buy a new sensor, Hitachi is OE for your van and less expensive than Motorcraft.
Your DTC is NOT a definitive determination that the IAT sensor is faulty. It is an indication that the PCM is unable to verify the integrity of the CIRCUIT which includes the sensor element, the wiring, all of the connectors, and the PCM.
Failure to properly follow the prescribed troubleshooting procedure will likely result in your coming back here in a short time and stating that "I spent $xxxx on a new MAF sensor and I still have the same fault!".
Please explain how the AIR FILTER can cause an electrical circuit fault.
This should be entertaining, I'll go get my popcorn.
With almost 15K posts, I would figure you would do some research. But then again, I've seen guys with over 10K posts ask how to change a spark plug, so your response was expected.
I'll take your response to mean you haven't a clue how it's supposed to work in the first place nor why your offered answer has been rejected. I'm still waiting for your answer.
BTW, many of those 15K posts were made after having done the technical research for the specific situation under discussion. I've covered this DTC before.

I have already replaced the maf sensor. As I stated earlier I am looking for location. So of the books say it's a separate sensor but do not list anywhere. Also I am not getting any mass air flow codes.
If you're asking this honestly seeking information DTC is short for Diagnostic Trouble Code, aka "code" or in this thread the OP's mention of P0113. Those are shown on a diagnostic scanner's list of found problems with a vehicle.

As noted in post #2, it is integrated into the MAF sensor.
