Thank you, I'll try to get ahold NOS Parts tomorrow about the valve. I've seen the one on eBay too, I've been considering it, just seems overpriced. Supply and demand I guess...
The auto parts stores seem to draw a blank when I give them the E3EE number. Is there a different number i could use that might work better? Same valve just from a different application?

Give the auto parts stores the Ford part number: E43Z-9F491-C and/or the Motorcraft part number: CX-921 .. Both are listed in post #17 along with the E3EE ID number.
E43Z is a 1984 Tempo part number prefix, but the valve was used on myriad 1984 and later cars/trucks.
In case anybody is interested you can use two individual valves instead of the combination valve. Since my bypass valve was still good I used just a diverter valve. Part number is E7TZ-9F491-B. I think motorcraft part number is cx 1208.

I believe it's a special type of compression spring but there are two of them in the valve of this kind. Rubber gasket or seals may be replaceable if find the part or may be able to make your own. were you able to repair your valve after taking it apart? ie: when vacuum is applied does the valve open and hold? mine on my 87 f150 with the 5.0 is not
holding vacuum either.
